14/02/2010 Wolter, Prosper and Fitz went for 'round 2' of our JAS commitment this winter. Amazingly, none of them had a fence down or any kind of penalty. Wolter and Prosper turned on the style for 4th and 10th places respectivly in the 100. I have to say - these competitions really give the horses a good school and I'll be taking the babies again next year. I think this season is going to be very interesting with some super young horses stepping out.....roll on Aldon.
10/02/2010 The Lion was very pleased to be out after squeeling in his box whilst waiting to be loaded in the morning! He didn't disappointed with a very speedy double clear in the newcomers - coming third in a field of 50 odd. Many eventers were out and about airing the cobwebds at this great venue. Aldata Babe was double clear and 4th in the discovery - Wilton jumped on a ticket with two first round clears in the BN and Discovery. Working pupil Tysha took Amira and was also double clear in the BN - good day had by all - except the queueing in the collecting ring!
07/02/2010 Daisy took our youngsters out for their first outings of the year - Tysha Oakes (working pupil here at Exmoor Eventing) also showed her young mare, Amira. Competing in the BE90 (hard core stuff) we weren't eligibale for prizes but Wilton, Prosper and Fitz all went well, if not a little surprised by the nature of some of the jumps! T.B.C at Hartpury next week....... Might even do the BE100!
06/02/2010 a Saturday meet with the TVF - Johnny and Wolter went very well over some good ground - Wolter loves his hunting and stands like a trooper at the meet - for a Dutch stallion he really does mix it quite well with the ISH's!
04/02/2010 Joint meet with the Blackmore & Sparkford Vale and The Mendip Farmers. Mary & Johnny (Gurth Lad) - a nice day in unusual surroundings. Both horses went well.
29/01/2010 Joint meet with the Surrey Union and the TVF. great fun, hounds went well and everyone had a good day and took home plenty of Somerset mud! Mary and Captain did us proud.
10/01/2010 Despite all the snow and ice - we are managing to carry on getting the horses worked. Thankfully, we have plenty of turn out here and the horses are able to let off some steam out in the paddocks. Our good old walker has been going from dusk 'til dawn and our gallops are snowy but in operation. I don't want to tempt fate but it's feeling slightly warmer and I think the end is in sight..... DT
05/01/2010 Over the Blue Moon - owned by Liz Mitchell has been sold to the Irish Military. Borris was qualified for Badminton with Daisy... hopefully we will see him there with his new jockey!
01/01/2010 New Years day meet with the Ledbury - Richard rode Johnny (Gurth Lad) who gave him a fabulous fault free ride over some typically challenging country (compliments of Mr Redvers MFH!!). Daisy was on a hireling after selling her ride the night before!
31/12/2009 Wilton & Thurlow (Daisy & Richard up) compete in the Hayes Golden Button Challenge - both horses completed without an error -not bad for two youngsters! what an excellent event -much credit is due to the organisors.
